Highway 407 East Phase II

The Highway 407 East Phase 2 project will extend Highway 407 about 22 km from Harmony Road in Oshawa to Highway 35/115 in Clarington. It will connect Highways 401 and 407 East with a 10-kilometre Highway 418 that will serve as a north-south freeway. The project will include eight new interchanges and three freeway-to-freeway connections (Highway 407 East and Highway 401 from Highway 418 and Highway 35/115). The project is located in Durham Region, Ontario and will be constructed on a design, build, finance and maintain strategy. The total construction value of the project is $1.2 billion. The Highway 407 East Phase 2 will be a toll road and owned by the Ontario government. By late 2017, a portion of Highway 407 East Phase 2, from Harmony Road to Taunton/Highway 418 will be completed and the remaining portion will be completed by late 2019.

Engtec Consulting Inc. has been retained on this project to develop the pavement structural designs by the successful consortium in accordance with current Ontario and Industry standards.

MTO Contract No.2008-4003 Highway 28

The project included investigation and design for the construction of 8.6 km of two lanes arterial road from 80m North of Young’s Point Road to 100m North of Old Burleigh Road in the Township of Smith-Ennismore Lakefield, Ontario. The design included improvement/expansion to shoulders, improvement of residential, commercial and farm entrances and the restoration of seven (7) associated side roads. The investigation and design procedures and the report format were to follow MTO’s protocols. The construction value of this project was estimated at $ 6.5 Million Dollars.

Bentall Kennedy Annual Pavement Rehabilitation Program in GTA

Since 2009 engineering services relative to asphalt and concrete pavements rehabilitation are being provided for various Bentall properties located in the Greater Toronto Area. The work primarily included geotechnical investigation, construction strategy recommendation, construction estimates preparation, specification development, tendering, contract administration and field inspection and laboratory material compliance testing. The approximate construction value for the rehabilitation work completed between year 2010 to 2012 is approximately $ 4.5 Million Dollars.

MTO Contract No.2006-3040 Highway 23

The project included investigation and design for the construction of 9.4 km of two lanes arterial road from 0.3 km west of the intersection with Wellington County Rd. 123 to the west limit of Harriston, Ontario (MTO Contract No. 2006-3040). The design included additional work on County Road 123/23 (South limit of the project) and Country Road 87 (North limit of the project). The investigation procedure and the report format followed MTO’s protocols. The construction value of this project was estimated at $ 5.0 Million Dollars.

Highway 401, Milton Expansion - MTO

Engtec Consulting Inc. (Engtec) was retained by BPCL to provide pavement design recommendations for the widening/rehabilitation of Highway 401, and three bridge structures located between Trafalgar Road and Regional Road 25 in the Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario (MTO DB-2014-2009). The name//location of these four bridges is as follows:

1. Regional Road 25 Underpass (site 10-056);
2. 5th Line Overpass (site 10-073/1&2); and
3. Oakville Creek West Branch (site 10-74/1&2).

The total construction value of this contract is $42 million. Engtec is also responsible for Contract Verification Engineering (QVE) and Inspection testing Services for this project.

Engtec Consulting Inc. (Engtec) was retained by BPCL to provide pavement design recommendations for the widening/rehabilitation of Highway 401, and four bridge structures located between Guelph Junction Railway (CPR Crossing) and Appleby Line in the Regional Municipality of Halton, Ontario (MTO Contract No. DB-2014-2002). The name//location of these four bridges is as follows:

1. CPR Overpass (site 10-20/1&2);
2. Campbell Avenue Overpass (site 10-44/1&2);
3. Sixteen Mile Creek Overpass (site 10-45/1&2); and
4. Appleby Line Overpass (site 10-49/1&2).

The total construction value of this contract is $49 million. Engtec is also responsible for Contract Verification Engineering (QVE) and Inspection testing Services for this project.
