Hurontario LRT, which is a light rail transit line under construction in the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The LRT line will run along Hurontario Street from Port Credit to Steels Avenue in Brampton. The route is approximately 18 kilometers long and would feature dedicated LRT tracks.
The Hurontario-Main LRT aims to provide efficient, reliable, and sustainable transportation options for residents and commuters in Mississauga and Brampton. It is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel times, and support future growth and development along the Hurontario corridor.
Mobilinx, a consortium of local and international companies, was awarded the contract to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the system. The total contract value was approximately $5.6 billion. This included $4.6 billion to design, build and finance plus $1 billion to operate and maintain the line for 30 years.
